Fabius, Assistant Plant Manager at Saint-Gobain Glass

Please introduce yourself.

My name is Fabius and I am an assistant to the plant management at Saint-Gobain Glass in Herzogenrath. I come from Cameroon and studied mechanical engineering in Germany with a focus on vehicle development and production planning. I started at Saint-Gobain in 2017 and I am involved in many cross-cutting projects such as furnace technology, process optimization and world class manufacturing.

What do you think is so special about working at Saint-Gobain?

At Saint-Gobain Glass, on the one hand, it is the content: glass is versatile and glass processes are very complex and challenging. You have to have knowledge of chemical and mechanical topics. On the other hand, you can develop, have a lot of contact with people, build networks and are not left alone.

How do you notice that you are working for an innovative company that cares about the living spaces of the future?

You only have to look at our production to see the innovations. WCM establishes itself, processes are constantly optimized and digitally monitored. We also promote and develop our employees in this direction. We focus on the right topics.

What makes your career at Saint-Gobain so special?

I am at an exciting interface between management and production. My induction was great, I can develop and unfold myself.

What kind of people do you think should apply to Saint-Gobain?

The more different characters, the better. You have to be ready to meet new challenges and develop yourself. A little ambition will not hurt. You should definitely want to achieve something, want to shape something.
