Tasks and Activities:

This versatile profession offers you insights into various areas of our industrial companies. From materials management to the sale of products, industrial clerks work in administration, accounting and planning.

During the two to three year apprenticeship you will be employed in various departments. For example, you will be creatively active in the marketing department, have contact to international business partners and experience the market events in purchasing and sales up close. In the finance departments of the companies you can follow the financial transactions. In this way you will get to know the connections and working methods in the individual companies.

You will also attend vocational school, where practical work in the company is underpinned by theoretical knowledge. The main subjects taught here are economics, but knowledge of IT and business correspondence is also taught. The individual companies will support you during the training by providing in-house instruction. At the end of the training you will take a written and oral examination before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and receive a certificate from the vocational school.

The profession of a social security employee requires a great deal of commitment, dedication and enjoyment in dealing with people. If you also enjoy working on a computer and are not afraid of paragraphs, then you have come to the right place!

The three-year training takes place in the offices of Saint-Gobain BKK and in various specialist areas such as insurance law, accounting, benefits and contributions.

In addition to the main tasks of customer advice, information and clarification, you will also be involved in the calculation and collection of total insurance premiums. During your training, you will attend ten two-week courses at the Bundesakademie der Betriebskrankenkassen in Rotenburg. This is intended to consolidate the knowledge acquired in practice. The training measures are supplemented by attendance at vocational school. The curriculum there includes the basics of business administration and economics, civil law and bookkeeping.

The intermediate examination takes place at the beginning of the second year of training.

The training ends with a written examination of specialist knowledge.

Tasks and Activities:

In this training occupation you buy goods and sell them to trade, handicraft or industry. To do this, you will observe the international and national markets, negotiate with suppliers and evaluate important information.

You will also be responsible for organising marketing strategies. In addition, this three-year training also includes negotiation in foreign languages, currency calculations, international contracts and customs regulations.

In the middle of the training period, you will take an intermediate examination.

The training ends with your final examination.

The training period for office management clerks is 3 years each. However, you can reduce the training period to 2 or 2.5 years, depending on the requirements.

The training contents are 90% identical for both training courses. The main difference between the two training occupations is in accounting, because the areas of annual financial statements and cost and performance accounting are no longer required for office management clerks. However, the subject of shorthand is also included, which is necessary for carrying out the secretarial tasks involved.

In the middle of the training period you take an intermediate examination.

The final examination at the end of the training period covers the subjects of economics and social studies, business administration, office management and a PC examination. The following oral examination contains questions from the secretarial and human resources departments.

The three-year training takes place primarily in the IT department, but as a service provider you are in constant contact with all departments and all employees of the company and set up, operate and manage the above systems according to customer requirements. The profession of an IT specialist requires commitment, a certain technical understanding and enjoyment of working with computers and people.

As an IT specialist specialising in system integration, you plan and configure information and telecommunications technology systems by integrating hardware and software components in networks.

This also means that in the event of malfunctions, you will systematically isolate and eliminate errors using modern expert and diagnostic systems. You will advise on the selection and use of hardware and solve application and system problems. The creation of system documentation is just as much a part of your tasks as the execution of training courses.

After approx. 1 ½ year the intermediate examination takes place. In this theoretical examination the state of knowledge of the previous training contents is checked.

The training ends with a written and an oral examination. For the oral examination, a project paper must be prepared and presented to an examination board of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Freight forwarding and logistics service clerks organise the dispatch, transshipment and, if necessary, storage of goods and monitor the interaction of those involved in a logistics chain: consignors, freight or transport and transshipment companies, warehouse operators, insurance companies, end customers.

They advise and support customers, for example in the choice of the suitable means of transport or method of transport or in questions of packaging, calculate prices, prepare offers, prepare contracts and take care of insurance cover.

Once an order has been placed, they commission transport companies to carry it out, prepare accompanying documents, freight and customs documents and monitor the processing of the order. They process customer complaints, receive damage reports and take care of the settlement of claims. Once an order has been processed, they invoice their services. They instruct payments, e.g. to carriers, and process dunning procedures.

Their tasks can also include the development of additional logistics services, for example, the assumption of preparatory or follow-up tasks for companies.
