Global Player at Saint-Gobain

As an international company with a presence in over 60 countries, we train a new generation of executives to meet tomorrow's challenges: Global Player!

You will spend 18-24 months preparing yourself comprehensively for your first management position in our Group in the context of three in-house and external project assignments at home and abroad. Your judgement, initiative, team spirit and problem-solving skills will count.

The next application start for our Global Player Program is expected to be in October 2019.

Why our program is a best practice:

Because we train global players!

In three demanding projects at home and abroad we ask for your entire know-how. One of the projects will be carried out abroad, another will open up completely new perspectives for you as a project outside your field of expertise. We will prepare you for an initial management position with us for a total of 24 months.

What you learn:

How you as an entrepreneur quickly judge, work on your own initiative and solve problems efficiently and effectively - of course in the interest of your target group.

Who supports you

You get the full program: Mentors from the global management level support you. In addition, a former global player will provide you with tips and tricks.

You make contacts:

Networking at events, so-called fireside chats and speed dating with top executives will help you get to know influential entrepreneurs.

And what comes after the program?

Of course, it goes on: with individually tailored training and personnel development, for example at our Saint-Gobain School of Management.

YOU, if you want to go high in your career!

Start your career with us and become a trainee "Global Player" engineer or business economist. Why? Because we provide practical training in companies and do without theory-heavy assessment centers in the recruitment process. You will get to know the global group level as well as the local subsidiaries and help shape them yourself.

How do I apply correctly?

The competition's not sleeping!

Apply convincingly, offensively and self-confidently. In short: Apply correctly!

Send us your application documents with cover letter, curriculum vitae, certificates and references online by form or e-mail. Your qualifications are the most important factor here. With a very good degree, international experience, fluency in English and practical experience, you already have good chances.

Have you cleared the first hurdle? Then we will conduct a detailed telephone interview with you. We already know your qualifications. What matters now is your personality. Do you fit into the company? Are you a team player? How do you react to difficult questions? We'll find out all that over the phone.

The last step is a personal conversation with several discussion partners at management level. Here and in a computer-aided test procedure, we put you and your knowledge through their paces. After detailed feedback, you will find out whether you have made it and whether you have prevailed against the competition.

Start-up

Regardless of which area and company you start in - for optimal integration, we offer an introductory program tailored to your individual needs:

  • Entry with a project task in the major field of study or according to it
  • Personal responsibility and ''learning-by-doing''
  • Trainings and events with other participants in the programme
  • Duration: depending on project 6-9 months

International Challenge

For us, internationality is not just a buzzword, but a lived reality. It is therefore a matter of course for us that you work together with people from different cultural backgrounds on an international project.

  • Takeover of a project on an international scale
  • Getting to know the operational practice in companies abroad
  • Expansion of intercultural competence
  • Duration: 6 months

At the end of the program, you will take on a further challenge in the sense of continuous development:

  • Takeover of a project outside the field of expertise
  • Promotion of interdisciplinary thinking
  • Preparation for the target function
  • Duration: depending on project 6-9 months
